Comments from Formal Student Evaluations
From Texas A&M University Students:
Professor Abdulla absolutely goes out of his way to make sure we are genuinely learning, not just working towards a grade. He encourages outside questions and tie-ins to increase our understanding of the material and just goes above and beyond in his attention to our actual education.
At the beginning of the semester, Professor Abdulla asked us what traits of an instructor were beneficial and what were detrimental, from our perspective as students. I said that the most helpful thing a professor could be was passionate about their subject and genuinely caring towards their students. Professor Abdulla did both of those tremendously, and I got the most out of my learning experience because of it. I will absolutely be recommending him as an instructor to anyone who takes 364!
I highly doubt I would have learned as much from any other instructor in this class. Professor Abdulla cares about his subject and his students and it is very apparent in the way he teaches.
I really enjoyed this course. All of the lectures were entertaining, including the ones that we had online. I felt like I learned a lot from this class not only directly from the material, but also the way that it was taught.
His notes were incredibly helpful and the problems laid out for us to solve kept me engaged and facilitated real learning, which is much appreciated! This course was challenging but once the work was put in, everything made so much sense, almost enough to get me to change my major to SCMT!
I really enjoyed the hands-on aspect of the class, where I had to be engaged and pay attention in order to keep up. This resulted in me learning more here than in perhaps any other class I took this semester.
From University of Tennessee Students:
Dr. Abdulla was an amazing professor. He always made himself available to students and was always very understanding of schedule changes. He provided great feedback on all written case studies and provided grading within the feedback period listed in the syllabus (2 weeks). Dr. Abdulla's class was one of my favorite this semester because he made the content engaging and fun the learn by providing real world examples and conversation based lectures.
I really appreciate Professor Abdulla's enthusiasm for the material! His love for his work shows in the attitude he brings to class every day and it's so refreshing.
The instructor was great, with a great attitude and desire to teach students. 10/10.
I really enjoyed his teaching style. He cares about his students and is always willing to help after class. Very approachable!
